monster high boo york boo yorkMonster High releases are coming fast and furious lately. The latest being Monster High: Boo York, Boo York. You have to admit that they are clever with the ghoul related puns. As you might expect from the title, this one occurs in New York. As would be appropriate with this city Boo York, Boo York is the first Monster High musical. Though don’t let that discourage you as it is not a true musical in that the story is really the focal point rather than the songs.

Cleo (voiced by Salli Saffioti) is removed from school because she has to attend a high faluting event in Boo York City. The gala is very important for her Egyptian family. Cleo decides to bring her boyfriend Deuce (voiced by Evan Smith) and all her ghoul friends along for the trip.

Once in Boo York City the Monster High students are wowed by all the stuff to do there. While there Catty Noir (voiced by Missi Hale) hopes that all the bright lights and energy will inspire her to write the great song she has been longing for. Cleo is oblivious to the fact that her sister Nefera (voiced by Wendee Lee) has plans for her that involve a combination of a one in a lifetime comet flyby and an ancient Egyptian ritual.

The combination of something old (Egyptian ritual, etc.) and something new (Boo York) is fun. Loads of puns, laughs and songs.  Little complicated at times though even small ones can grasp what needs to be grasped.
