Corb Lund is a Canadian country music artist who hails from Alberta. He really is a true cowboy as he grew up in Southern Alberta working his family’s farm and ranches. In university he moved to Edmonton and attended Grant MacEwan College to study jazz guitar and bass.
As a twelve year member of the band The Smalls they released all their albums independently and had moderate success. When they broke up in 2001 Lund struck out on his own. He usually tours and records with his backing band Hurtin’ Albertans. Alone the country singer has gained much more success. He has toured Canada and Europe extensively and had his music used in films and television specials as well in 2011 in played a song for the Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge on their Royal visit. His seventh solo release, the 2012 album Cabin Fever, was shortlisted in 2013 for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize.
