American metalcore band Blessthefall has a Canadian link in that frontman Beau Bokan is married to fellow musician, Lights, electro pop singer from Ontario. Obviously there are more substantial reasons why you should go see this band.
Together since 2003, the band was first started in Phoenix, Arizona by high school friends. After some line-up changes they signed with a Warner Records subsidiary and then released their first album in 2007 called His Last Walk. His Last Walk did fairly well for the band selling 65,000 copies. They spread the word about their music by touring a lot and playing in festivals like Warped Tour. While opening for Silverstein in Europe late in 2007 their lead singer decided to leave the band and it took until 2008 for them to find a replacement. Former member of Take the Crown, Beau Boken was named the band’s new lead singer. Albums began to be released at a fairly regular clip with Witness (2009), Awakening (2011), Hollow Bodies (2013) coming one after another and finally their latest, To Those Left Behind (2015).
Soundwise the band has been described as Christian metalcore, but Bokan has denied that is what they are about. The band has said that their influences include The Get Up Kids, Underoath and Alexisonfire.
