You can go two ways with a musical about love – either warm and mushy or a rip roaring laugher. With a title like I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change you know they went the comedy route. It is the second longest running off-Broadway show, so that is an indication of the quality here. Lyrics by Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts, it begins its three week run at the Segal Centre on May 8.
There is nothing more complex in this oh so complicated world than relationships. So if you can’t beat ‘em you might as well laugh along the way. That seems to be the motto here in the revue that is a tribute to everyone who has loved and lost.
After a twelve year run off-Broadway the show has traveled the globe bringing it timeless appeal everywhere with a theatre. This is the first time Montreal audiences will be able to enjoy it.
