Man and Animal: Of Horses and Men at Pointe-à-Callières

of horses and men previewThis is a rare opportunity for art and horse enthusiasts.  The world premiere of an exhibition called Of Horses and Men is taking place at Pointe-à-Callières.  It is the first time that the people at Hermès of Paris has agreed to allow pieces from the private Émile Hermès Collection, Paris to travel.  250 objects from the collection will illustrate the relationship between man and horses.  It is a collection that only those who have gained access to where it is displayed at 24 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré have had access to.

 

Émile Hermès was a huge collector of art, paintings, books, and other rare objects plus a lover of all things equestrian, so it makes sense that he has a lot of things horse related.  The history of horses in relation to man is depicted through this collection.
