A music producer who has been called by some the modern day Quincy Jones of hip hop/R&B has now stepped out from the console to front and center in releasing his own album. This is not his first album but still he insulates himself with friends he has collected along the way like T.I., Swizz Beats, 2 Chainz, Pusha T, Rick Ross, J. Cole, Drake, Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Future and Fabolous. The biggest surprise is when Meghan Trainor shows up and demonstrates that she means business with her strong vocals. That is probably because his last album I Changed a Lot was underwhelming. The result is he is back making the music you have come to expect from DJ Khaled. As for the man himself, his contribution is pretty much limited to calling out his own name often in case you forget due to all the guest vocalist that this is his album. It is really an up and down album with great variances in quality. Strongest tracks include the lead single “For Free” featuring Drake, “I Got the Keys” featuring Jay Z and Future and perhaps the best of the lot being “Jermaine’s Interlude” featuring J. Cole.
