It took her a while but Sia has finally broken through to become a big pop music star at the age of 40. Hey, some people are late bloomers! It’s probably better to have success a little later in life as you are better equipped to handle stardom and all the crap that comes with it.
Sia Fuller, an Aussie native, began her music career with the British band Zero 7 after moving to London in the late 90s. After that she began to release solo albums and they did not really connect with people. She even moved to New York City with the aim of raising her profile in the United States. Even that and constant touring did not garner the results she hoped for.
Deciding to remain in the music industry some way, somehow, Sia began writing songs for other artists. After writing songs for Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Kylie Minogue, and Flo Rida, she then got together with David Guetta for “Titanium”. It was the first time a song in which she provided vocals became a major hit. Suddenly things just clicked and success came.
In 2014 Sia released her sixth solo album called 1000 Forms of Fear. It contained the monster hit “Chandelier”. Just this year she released another album called This Is Acting and it has spawned hits like “Cheap Thrills” (her first number one). Most recently Sia released a s ingle called “The Greatest” with guest vocals by Kendrick Lamar.
