Hollywood, California is the home of the American film industry. It is also the birthplace of rock band Black Veil Brides. Though they got together in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2006, but really came to be what they are in Hollywood. The members of the band, Jake Pitts (lead guitar), Jinxx (rhythm guitar/violin), Christian “CC” Coma (drums), Andy Biersack (vocals), and Ashley Purdey (bass), wear plenty of make up, tight black studded clothes and sport long hair. Sounds like hair bands of the 80s, no? A lot of Kiss and Motley Crue influence going on here.
The band began 12 years ago in 2006 though there was a blip in 2009 where Andy Biersack moved to Los Angeles. Once there he formed a new band under the name Black Veil Brides and signed with StandBy Records. The band’s debut album came out in 2010. We Stitch These Wounds did very well on the Billboard charts and they earned many fans of hard rock music courtesy of their rather do it yourself method of doing things. They shot their own videos and designed their own clothes. Over the course of their career the band’s line-up has changed a number of times while the success has remained rather constant.
They have toured with other acts like Avenged Sevenfold, Slash, Motley Crue, and Bullet for My Valentine. Their sound has been categorized as glam metal, hard rock, heavy metal, emo, and goth. Influences include Def Leppard, Metallica, Aerosmith, Dropkick Murphys, and Queen.
On this tour they are co-headlining with Asking Alexandria.
