JANE’S PARTY PREMIERE NEW TRACK “SURFING ON A SINEWAVE” FT LELAND WHITTY (BADBADNOTGOOD)

Guitarist Tom Ionescu tells PopMatters, “With all four of us growing up musically as jazz school students, we’ve always played and listened to instrumental music yet we had somehow never recorded an instrumental song. The concept was to record it in a traditional way – a single day in a studio with all four of us jamming together in a single room – to capture a live vibe. We thought who better to inspire us and guide us through the process than Leland Whitty of BADBADNOTGOOD, whose production work in the studio and during mixing was an incredible learning experience.”

Jane’s Party members are currently in Iqaluit, Nunavut for the Alianait Arts Festival. The band will be teaching workshops as well as collaborating with a multitude of artists and running the festival’s “Rock School”. Each year in June, Alianait sets the spotlight on Inuit and other circumpolar artists while bringing together exciting world-class musicians, circus acrobats, dancers, storytellers, actors, filmmakers and visual artists from across the globe.

JP recently released a video for their anthemic new single “You’re The Light” written in collaboration with the band’s good friend Matthew Angus (Fast Romantics).
