Hailing from Seattle, Washington, this American band has brought a certain cachet back to indie folk. Meaning that they have proven that folk is not a dead or dying musical genre.
A decade ago they released their second EP, Sun Giant, which garnered them the attention of both fans and critics. On the back of that momentum shortly after they released their debut self-titled full length album. Everyone dug their use of complex yet accessible lyrics and beautifully interwoven vocal harmonies. After a few more releases and a decent amount of success the band released their most recent album last year called Crack-Up.
The members of the band got together based on a mutual love of music from the likes of Bob Dylan and Neil Young. After starting out as The Pineapples they switched to Fleet Foxes because it sounded British.
