For their 25th anniversary the Ottawa Folk music festival, CityFolk Fest is going big or going home. They will be bringing some great live music and some of the biggest names in the industry. Just a short drive from Montreal it is a great place to be outdoors and enjoy music.
This is a festival in which the focus is on folk, rock and country music. Artists performing this year include: 54-40, Ani DiFranco, Barney Bentall, David Byrne, Hozier, Janis Ian, Michael McDonald, Steven Earle & the Dukes, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Terra Lightfoot, The Decemberists, and Kaleo.
If that wasn’t enough, as an offshoot of the main festival there is also the Marvest which runs on September 14 and 15. It takes place in an area of Ottawa called The Glebe and features locally produced music. Great thing is that all Marvest shows are free. Many of the afternoon shows will be family friendly.
