American soul and gospel singer Leon Bridges has become a hot commodity of late. From Fort Worth, Texas, Bridges is 29-years-old and has released two albums so far, Coming Home and Good Thing. He taught himself to play guitar by starting with simple chords then moving on to more difficult things as he progressed.
To start off he was writing songs that were influenced by 50s and 60s soul music. Bridges even used vintage equipment to make things sound even more authentic. He even performs wearing vintage suits.
Soon his songs, especially “Coming Home”, began to get radio play. Critcal acclaime led to commercial success then a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album.
Bridges has toured with the like of Pharrell and Harry Styles and has worked with Macklemore and ODESZA.
