The first Skate Canada happened way back in 1973 in Calgary. It became part of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating in 1995. Laval or more precisely Place Bell will be the site of the 45th edition of Skate Canada International.
As the second event in the competitive skating season, it is a vital part of skater’/teams’ seasons. Each skater or team can only be entered into a max of two events. Points are awarded to the skaters or teams based on their placement within the event. Top six in each category then qualify for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final.
Competing this year in Laval will be the top skaters from around the world. Come see the likes of Keegan Messing (Canada), Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donohue (USA), Shoma Uno (Japan), Evgenia Medvedeva (Russia), and Piper Gilles/Paul Poirier (Canada) skate live.
