More outdoor fun during the winter in Montreal and Fête de Neiges brings it for four weekends in January and February. This year is the 36th edition of Fête de Neiges and thousands of people attend each year. Geared towards families, Fête de Neiges features a whole bunch of activities of the paid or free variety. The attitude is get outdoors and enjoy what nature has to offer.
While some activities will run throughout there are some special events that will only happen at specific times. Each weekend you can take in such things as ice sculpting, theatre and music. Special events include boot hockey with members of Les Canadiennes, live band karaoke, singers Soran Dussaigne and Andie Duquette previously from La Voix, and kids’ entertainer Annie Broccoli.
Besides all that you can do Passe-Partout Karaoke, Sevilles Films Zone, Ice Sculpting at the Cirque du Soleil Alegria Kingdom, Frosty slides, and dogsledding. Most of these types of activities either charge or require purchase of an Accropass (see below) to participate. There is also food available on site from vendors like Subway, Choco-Bar, Schnitzel Truck, Queues de Castor, and others. On site there are also several warm up sites and baby rest stops where you can use the rocking chairs and nursing pillows.
Most important is that it is free admission to the site. No excuse to not attend. If any of the activities are going to be cancelled due to weather conditions it will be posted on the site www.jeandrapeau.com
