Juno-nominated songstress Hannah Georgas has released a cover of Eurythmics’ “Love Is A Stranger”. This is the second single from her beautifully recorded 4-song EP due March 8, 2019 in celebration of International Women’s Day. “Love Is A Stranger” is available via all DSPs HERE. To accompany the new single, Georgas has released a video of her enthralling performance live at Massey Hall.

“Annie Lennox is an inspiration and someone I’ve always had so much respect for,” says Georgas. “I’m so drawn to lyrics in music and the way she describes what it feels like to fall in love with someone is so raw and beautiful. Her lyrics reveal that it’s far from perfect. It’s painful, it’s ugly, it makes you crazy and can be consuming. Eurythmics’ version of the song is so catchy and fun to listen to. I love how it plays with the dense and serious tone of the lyrics.”

The first single from Imprints, a cover of The Cranberries’ “No Need to Argue” featuring Lucius, was highly received. Says Georgas, “The Cranberries had such an impact on me growing up and is still one of my favourite bands.”

The collection of covers by influential women in her life is produced by Dan Molad and features music by The Cranberries, Eurythmics, Janet Jackson and Tegan and Sara. Accompanying Georgas on the EP are friends and special guest vocalists Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius, Emily King, Montaigne and Tamara Lindeman of Weather Station.

On March 7th, Georgas is celebrating self-identifying women and non-binary artists by partnering with Massey Hall and Women in Music Canada for a special performance of Imprints at the Lula Lounge in Toronto. “An Evening with Hannah Georgas and Friends” featuring Donovan Woods, Rae Spoon, and The Weather Station sold out in under 48 hours. Each artist will perform a cover by a female or non-binary artist that has made an impact on their life. Says Georgas, “I feel that it’s important to strengthen this community and support one another in the music industry.”
