THE KNOCKS REMIX OF “FAST TALK”

The original “Fast Talk” single features backing vocals of longtime Houses member Megan Messina, and unfolds in hazy rhythms formed from chopped-up breakbeats and live percussion. “Fast Talk” is currently# 11 at Alternative Radio and Top 10at KCRW. Upon release, the trackranked as the #2 most played single at Sirius XM’s Alt Nation.
Houses has upcoming headline shows in San Diego, CA, Buffalo, NY, Austin, TX, Dallas, TXand Phoenix, AZ. The band will also support Jungleon their North American tour, including shows at LA’s Palladiumon March 1stand New York’s Terminal 5on March 19th. In addition, Houses will perform at BottleRock Napa Valleyfestival this May. See below for full tour routing. Houses EP, Drugstore Heavenis out now. Click HERE to stream/purchase.
Drugstore Heaven delivers a dynamically textured sound partly shaped by Tortoriello’s exploration of rave and drum-and-bass artists from the late ’90s.The EP’s punchiest moment, “Left Alone,” emerges as a bright and bouncy anthem celebrating the bliss of solitude, while closer “Pink Honey” is a lavishly romantic number built on ethereal vocals, delicate guitar tones, and luminous synth.” Drugstore Heavenhas earned praise from NYLON(“so, so good”), FLAUNTLaughing SquidHilly Dilly & more.
Though the new EP is Houses’ first release since theA Quiet Darkness LP, the past few years have been undeniably busy for Tortoriello with work as Dawn Golden (his producer project via Mad Decent), co-production/writing for Lil Yachty (“Forever Young”), Kali Uchis (“Melting”), Ryan Hemsworth, Martin Garrix, and others, in addition to a slate of high-profile remixes for the likes of Major Lazer, Kings of Leon, Odesza, and more. Drugstore Heavenmarks a major artistic shift for Tortoriello. Abandoning the heady concepts of his previous records for some of his tightest songwriting yet, Tortoriello is embracing the most fascinating character in his musical universe: himself.
