Vulture called Atsuko Okatsuka’s stand-up a “perfect distillation of the Japanese-American experience delivered as succinct observations in a cool, calm, collected manner,” and her new comedy album, ‘But I Control Me,’ out this Friday (1/17) on the Comedy Dynamics Network, proves it.

A Vulture “Comedian to Watch” and TimeOut “Rising Comedian,” Atsuko is the host of a (woke) Japanese Game Show in San Francisco (Let’s Go, Atsuko!), has written for Adult Swim’s The Eric Andre Show, Soft Focus with Jena Friedman, HBO’s Room 104, and more. On the new album, she asks the big questions: “What if IHOP did change to IHOB forever? What if Jesus has been back? What if Donald Trump’s spray tan guy is a part of the resistance?”

Watch her perform through a literal 7.1 magnitude earthquake HERE at The AV Club.
