The Art Souterrain Festival is happy to announce the family program for its 12th edition, which will take place from February 29 to March 22, 2020. Young festival attendees will be able to discover the works of the underground route through explicative cartels and interactive activities dedicated to them. Until March 22, and every day during spring break, they will also be able to take part in the biggest escape game in the world specially created by Échappe-Toi, in the heart of the exhibition.
Discovering Artworks With Kids During the Festival
The Art Souterrain Festival offers a path dedicated to children, with popularized explanatory cartels under certain works, especially designed to introduce young people to contemporary art. One artwork per building was targeted for children.
Échappe-toi. – from February 29 to March 22
Art Souterrain and Échappe-Toi invite festival attendees to discover the works exhibited in Montreal’s underground passages in fun and original ways, by taking part in a giant escape game created especially for the occasion. Professional comedians will offer puzzles to solve and interactive games to entertain young and old by familiarizing them with the history of Montreal and contemporary art.

Kids Makeup – March 1 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal
In the heart of the course, the professional makeup artist Catt Original will install her brushes to makeup for free aspiring festival attendees, there to discover the works.
Rethink your City – March 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal
This workshop will allow children to create in the Montreal underground network, a giant model of their dream city, made from recycled materials and materials such as wire, wood, plasticine, vegetable moss, etc. A facilitator will be on site to guide the children during this workshop.
