| ABOUT MASSIMADI Since 2009, Massimadi has presented LGBTQ+ themed fiction films and documentaries featuring members of black communities. The festival also acts as a platform that showcases local talent from these communities and that highlights Afro LGBTQ+ culture through artistic presentations. A welcoming space for cultural exchange through film screenings, discussion panels, workshops, art happenings, parties and other rallying festivities, Massimadi takes on the theme of AfroFuturisk for its 12th edition (February 20–29, 2020). At the dawn of this new decade, the festival innovates through a unique programming where Afro-queer artists envision this future by questioning and pushing the boundaries of political, social, migratory and environmental issues. |
