Interweaving realism and disturbing strangeness, Le Rire offers a human exploration of the survivor syndrome, and the mourning process of the past, with the distance of time, the strength of love, and the joy of being alive.
A war in Quebec, a killing. Valerie (Léane Labrèche-Dor) survives, but not her lover. A few years later, she oscillates between her past that haunts her and a life that has resumed its course. We follow her journey in her relationship with her present boyfriend Gabriel (Alexandre Landry) and her work as an attendant in a CHSLD where she befriends Jeanne (Micheline Lanctôt), a funny and cultured woman, but heavily disabled.
In the upcoming weeks, every Tuesday, House 4:3 will offer a free VOD movie. To find out all you need to know, visit facebook.com/maison4tiers and discover the 4:3 House movies directly online at boutique.maison4tiers.com..
