Blue-eyed soul. That sound is what made Hall & Oates one of the most successful duos in music history. Daryl Hall and John Oates grew up in Philadelphia and went on to become music power houses in the 1970s and 80s.
This show was filmed at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in Australia in October of 2012. From those first distinctive notes of “Maneater” it becomes an evening of hit after hit. Listening to it all you begin to understand how many songs of the duo are familiar.
Though they are a little older and don’t have the energy they used to on stage, the musicianship of their band, Hall’s stellar vocals and catchiness of their songs more than make up for it.
