SPEAK UP/MAKE YOUR WAY by Amandine Gay – Now available on Video On Demand

EyeSteelFilm Distribution and Bras de Fer are pleased to announce the online launch of the documentary SPEAK UP/MAKE YOUR WAY (Ouvrir La Voix), the first feature written and directed by Amandine Gay, which gives a voice to Afro-descendants in French-speaking Europe.

Screened as a Canadian premiere at the Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM), where it won the coveted Audience AwardSPEAK UP/MAKE YOUR WAY was a success internationally, and when it was released in theatres in Quebec. The film is now available on VOD on EyeSteelFilm’s Vimeo platform.

SPEAK UP/MAKE YOUR WAY is a film about francophone European black women from the diaspora. The film focuses on our common experience of discrimination related to those two indistinct dimensions of our identities: “woman” and “black”. The film deals with the intersections of discrimination, art, blackness in all its expressions, and why we choose to reclaim the narrative about ourselves.
