ÉTÉ 85 by François Ozon
In the summer of his 16th birthday, Alexis, on a sea trip on the Normandy coast, is heroically saved from a shipwreck by 18-year-old David. Alexis has just met the young man of his dreams. But will the dream last more than a summer? Summer ’85…
François Ozon’s new opus (Grâce à Dieu, Huit femmes) features two promising young actors, Félix Lefebvre and Benjamin Voisin, in a love story, taking place over a summer on the Normandy coast. Rounding out the cast, we find the familiar faces of Melvil Poupaud (Laurence Anyways, Grâce à Dieu), Valeria Bruni Tedeschi (Les Estivants, Un château en Italie) and Isabelle Nanty (Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain, Astérix et Obélix: Mission Cléopâtre). ÉTÉ 85 was part of the Official Selection of the 2020 Cannes Film Festival and was also presented at TIFF earlier this year.
