Two long lost brothers are brought together during the search for the emperor’s daughter. The two brothers were estranged due to their taking different sides during the war. Now they face a tough choice – family bonds or political alliance.
Human imagination is an amazing thing. It has conceived of things such as getting man into space, beautiful works of art, architecture, sports strategies, technology, and the list goes on. It seems like almost anything we can conceive of in our minds we can also put into action or bring to being. It is a powerful thing. With great power comes great responsibility. Expectations result. Those expectations put pressure on those who dream of creating. We have come to expect the AI from Ex Machina and reject Dr. Frankenstein’s monster. Director Arturo Lizardi (great name!) produces something here which is full of imagination, but ends up, for the most part, like Frankenstein’s pieced together monster.
It is not enough to make a fantasy thriller film which is dark in tone and look. You also have to instill it with substance and coherence. There are some strong elements here (mostly the visuals) though not enough to make a solid film. While you should not completely write off the film, especially if you are a fan of the genre, it certainly is not a must watch.
The film is available on VOD on iTunes, Prime Video, Google Play, YouTube, and Vimeo.
