New EP ‘Ambitions’, out now via Icons Creating Evil Art

Following on from the release of his highly praised new EP ‘Ambitions’ at the end of last year and his subsequent follow-up cut ‘Oceans’ in recent months, Swedish alt-pop troubadour Summer Heart is back to share his take on the smash hit single from Drake, ‘Passionfruit’.
Keeping his own distinct flair for smooth and vibrant alt-pop production intact, this new version of ‘Passionfruit’ sees him deliver a bold and enigmatic effort, filled with sensual soul. Channelling the same lo-fi aesthetic of the original, his rendition creates a fresh and breezy return with all the same passion and vigour he is known for.
Speaking about the cover, he said, “Passionfruit has been stuck on my mind since the first time I heard it on the radio a couple of years ago. There is something about how understated it is that I really love. I started jamming on Passionfruit with myself in Ableton Live and really liked what I came up with. I pressed record and this is how it turned out.”
Having been performing independently for over eight years, Summer Heart is now signed to the renowned Swedish label Icons Creating Evil Art. With an already impressive roster under their belts, the imprint is set to become a welcome home to the frontman’s breezy and lovable direction.
