R&B superstar Tank has done it again with his sixth #1 hit with “I Deserve” on R&B radio. The 9x GRAMMY® Award-nominee sang, wrote, and produced the second single off his soon-to-be-released 10th studio album R&B Money, due out later this year. “I Deserve” samples Tank’s 2001 Top 40 smash, “Maybe I Deserve.” The official music video directed by Matt Alonzo stars Adam Waheed and Juhahn Jones. “I Deserve” follows the #1 R&B hit, “Can’t Let It Show,” featuring an instantly memorable sample of Kate Bush’s “This Woman’s Work.”
“I feel like Jordan in ’98 winning his sixth title with the Chicago Bulls! I’m so grateful to all the R&B music lovers because this couldn’t happen without you,” states Tank. “This is a blessing, and I’m here to share more with the fans as I gear up for the release of R&B Money.”
In 2021, Tank celebrated the long-overdue streaming debut of his landmark first three solo albums, 2001’s RIAA gold-certified, #1 debut, FORCE OF NATURE, 2002’s ONE MAN, and 2007’s chart-topping, GRAMMY® Award-nominated SEX, LOVE & PAIN. Rolling Stone acknowledged the historic streaming premiere with an exclusive interview with Tank, writing, “For the first time, fans will also be able to travel through his catalog in reverse, rewinding from 2021 to 2000.”
As fans await the release of his final album R&B Money, Tank will be performing on spot dates, concerts, and festivals, including Orlando’s Soul Festival (March 26), Cincinnati Music Festival (July 21 -23), and Club Quarantine Live in Las Vegas Labor Day Weekend (September 2-4).
