LES INNOCENTS by Norwegian screenwriter and director Eskil Vogt will hit theatres on May 13. A fantastic thriller filmed from a child’s perspective, presented in its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2021 in the Un Certain Regard section, the film has had an enviable career at international festivals where it has been awarded numerous prizes, in particular, the Prix de critics and the Audience Award at the Festival du film fantastique de GĂ©rardmer.
During a sunny northern summer, children reveal their dark and mysterious powers when their parents’ backs are turned. Recreation then takes a much more dangerous turn.
Nominated for the Oscar for best screenplay last winter for his collaboration with his compatriot Joachim Trier on the script for the film Julie (in 12 chapters), Eskil Vogt was introduced to the public as a director thanks to Blind, a first genre feature film presented at Sundance and at the Berlinale in 2014. With LES INNOCENTS, his second feature, Eskil Vogt once again dives into the world of genre film and offers a film led by a group of children whose games gradually take a disturbing twist.
LES INNOCENTS will hit theatres on May 13 in the original Norwegian version with French and English subtitles. The film will be available on video on demand from May 20 on all platforms.
