July 16 is the birthday of a notable figure in the history of Montréal: famed Canadian privateer Pierre Le Moyne d’Iberville, born in Ville-Marie in 1661.

SEEKING VOLUNTEERS 
18th CENTURY PUBLIC MARKET

Help bring the museum’s New France market to life! Pointe-à-Callière is seeking about 30 volunteers to take on various roles at this not-to-be-missed event of the summer: Costumed characters on-site Costume helpers Foundation booth attendants “Strolling” attendants as needed on-site.

IT HAPPENED AT THE MUSEUM…
On June 21, the day of the summer solstice, the Museum invited the public to a colourful summertime celebration, with Scandinavian music and games, a refreshment stand, and a lively re-enactment of a Viking feast!
