Terror in space is the purpose of this film. It is a horror film in space with some science fiction thrown in for good measure.
A team of rescue technicians is sent into outer space to investigate the reappearance of a spaceship thought to have been lost years ago. Almost as soon as the team locates and boards the ship weird things start happening. It almost seems as if the ship itself is alive.
Be prepared for some gruesome scenes and plenty of mystery in this horror film clearly aimed at adults. Director Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat) keeps the pace going and creates a good, creepy atmosphere throughout. He does not use blood and guts to scare you but rather shock and tension. The ominous nature of the film sort of grabs hold and keeps you in a constant state of tension. The hell-dimension is incredibly creepy. While the plot is quite simple it doesn’t bog down with too many technicalities nor is it silly.
Worth a watch as it starts off slow and then gets better as it goes along.
