Police officer Mac McDonald (Michael Joiner) and his family lived through a horrible tragedy many years ago when their oldest boy while riding his bike in front of the house was hit by fleeing drug user racing away from the police in a car.  McDonald, not a man who is open with his feelings, becomes hard hearted and loses his faith in God.  Due to his pain and bitterness about the accident the McDonald family is no longer close.  The distance is especially noticeable between Mac and his remaining son.  For seventeen years Mac has kept his anger inside with no outlet.

At work Mac, used to working alone, is paired with African American cop and part time pastor, Sergeant Sam Wright (Michael Higgenbottom - N-Secure).  Not only upset about the pairing, Mac is also a racist, so this makes the work environment tense for both men.

Sam is also going through some struggles of his own as he needs more money for and better attendance at his church.  In order to support his family he has to stay on full-time as a police officer.  He begins to doubt his calling as a pastor and has to turn to his grandfather (Louis Gossett Jr. - An Officer and a Gentleman, Iron Eagle) for some wisdom.

The fact that this is a Christian film should not cause you to reject it.  Its central themes of forgiveness and loss are universal ones no matter what religion you subscribe to.  Yes, the acting and budget is not first rate, but it is not the worst film ever made either.

Keep your eyes peeled for some interesting shots of the city of Memphis.  A gritty and honest portrayal of its suburbs and especially its inner city.

A film that attempts to be as down-to-earth and realistic as possible.  Far from perfect, but its heart is in the right place.
