Rob Zombie, with his director hat on, has directed the sequel to the film "Halloween" and is going to make one for "The Blob", so it would seem 'normal' that he make a sequel to his own CD. "Hellbilly Deluxe" was his debut solo effort in 1998 and 12 years later he has recorded the next chapter in this musical tale.
Though this is a sequel it is quite different from the original. For example, it stretches itself further musically. You get a hodge podge of garage rock, industrial, acoustic (say it ain't so, Rob!), and bluesy rock. Much like his films, the album is frequently over-the-top beginning with its titles like "Virgin Witch", "Werewolf, Baby!", "Jesus Frankenstein", and " Werewolf Women of the SS" and continuing on with a 10 minute song ("The Man Who Laughs") that features (I don't know if that is the right word) a 4 minute drum solo by Tommy Clufetos. Epic, baby!
