Stirring, lively and exciting are some of the words you could use to describe the latest effort from The Soweto Gospel Choir. The 19 songs on the South African groups current CD are their interpretations of modern songs mixed in with traditional South African songs. Whether it is a number that focuses on one, a few or a chorus of voices, everything they do is filled with that sense of spirituality that you don't often get in modern recordings. Highlights on the album include the gospel version of Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" and the very soft "Prayer for South Africa".
