Stan Getz plays Jobim

Stan Getz is known for his unique music composed of Brazilian rhythm and modern jazz, which results into a smooth bossa nova album. This album gathers up fourteen tracks from Getz's previous recordings in the 60's and offers up an ode to Antonio Carlos Jobim's beautiful compositions. Expect some interesting tunes blending the old and new jazz styles. As most of this album is instrumental there are few jazz vocals that make an appearance, like o­n the track "Corcovado (Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars)" where Astrud Gilberto takes credit for. The vocals with a backdrop of Getz o­n tenor saxophone. "Vivo Sonhanando (Dreamer)" is another smooth groove. Grammy winning song "Desafinado" is a plesant listen. You'll find an instrumental version and o­ne with vocals o­n this album. The blues mixed with bosa nova spice things up o­n "O Morro Nao Tem Vez." Other noteworthy tracks include "Once Again" and "O Grande Amor."
