As Mickey Mouse was becoming more popular and successful, a new character was needed to increase the story material. Donald Duck first appeared on screen in 1934 in "The Wise Little Hen" and became an instant success. All his starring cartoons are shown in chronological order on Disc 1 of this DVD. We are also introduced to Clarence "Ducky" Nash, the voice of Donald Duck who landed the role when Walt Disney heard him reciting Mary Had A Little Lamb in that peculiar voice. We also see the first appearance of Donald's girlfriend Daisy Duck and his devilish nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie. Disc 1 contains 20 short films including "Beach Picnic" and "Donald's Nephews" as well as Publicity and Memorabilia Gallery, and Storyboard and Background Art Gallery. Disc 2 contains 16 more shorts and as a Bonus Feature, "The Man Behind the Duck: Clarence 'Ducky' Nash", narrated by Leonard Maltin, a look at the 50 year career of the man behind the famous voice who for his whole life was known as "Ducky" even though he
