Mondial de la Bière / June 2nd to June 6th 2004

Beer drinkers unite; it's time for the 11th Annual Mondial de la bière festival (Montreal Beer Festival). You will delight in over 350 varieties of the finest domestic and international beers displayed by 95 breweries from as far away as Japan's Asahi Brewery. Aside from the fine ales, drop by the Quebec's Cider Pavilion for a taste of the Quebec countryside. Vodka coolers and martinis are also all the rage this year.

Fine cuisine to be savored while digesting your brew is also in abundance at the fest.. Don't miss exhibits by the Dairy Farmers of Canada offering samplings of cheese, beer and cider, and the Aliments du Québec terrace for tasting sessions of food dishes cooked with beer and cider. Relish in an assortment of foods such as brisket, fresh homemade potato chips, and bison on a stick. Taste cheeses and chocolates and top it all off with a fine cigar or cigarillo.

The Mondial de la bière is the largest North American festival to feature large brewers and micro brewers on a level playing field, simultaneously displayed under one roof. The event is held indoors and outdoor to support Montreal ever-changing weather, so you don't have to stop drinking even if it pours.

The festival organizers anticipate an attendance of about 60,000 visitors. The afternoon visitors are usually the hard core enthusiasts, followed by the happy hour crowd, and into the evening with bar-goers and regular folks who just want to have a taste.

Enjoy live music every evening between 6:30 and 8:00 pm, and participate in the Beer Contest by voting for your favorite beer; but most of all make sure to visit the Windsor Station site before the event ends on Sunday June 6th. to take in all the celebrations.
