For over 36 years this German outfit has stood aeons away and above the massive mould of standard pop and rock music by incessantly expanding on a style and musical vision that epitomizes innovation and heterodoxy. Thiis 1977 Montreal concert captured on this disc is representative of the musical direction members at that time assumed. By that point Edgar Froese, Christopher Franke and Peter Baumann were at the helm stirring the Tangerine coloured musical locomotive towards the 80's. The spacey Casio keyboard sounds that would eventually dominate the post punk era manifest themselves lavishly here in six insanely long instrumentals each designated as a "Movement".
It's hard to put into words what exactly you could expect from this CD but if a description had to be given, it would be a combination of Friday the 13th musical scores and the "space" found at several Grateful Dead concerts.
