This album was live recorded on the 4th of July, 2003 at the Red Rocks Amphitheater (located near Denver Colorado). For the past 10 years, Blues Traveler have made an annual tradition of playing at Red Rocks. "Live On The Rocks" has been dubbed the best of 3 live albums Blues Traveler have released, due in part to the success of their last studio album, "Truth Be Told" (of which 6 songs are featured on "Live On The Rocks"). The other songs chosen for this live performance have been selected from 6 previous Blues Traveler albums. The best song on the album would have to be the cover of "No Woman No Cry", which features Ziggy Marley partaking in a duet with John Popper (vocals/harmonica). It is safe to say that "Live On The Rocks" faithfully represents Blues Traveler, complete with plenty of instrumental improvisation by Popper, Chan Kinchla (guitar), Ben Wilson (bass) and Brendan Hill (drums). "Live On The Rocks" features 14 of Blues Traveler's best songs, seamlessly infused into a 75 minute album. Standout songs are: "No Woman No Cry", "Hook", "This Ache" and "Thinnest of Air".
