The Arthur Murray Downtown Dance Studio in collaboration with The Montreal Rotary Club and Club Sportiff MAA is organising a wonderfully exciting 12-Hour Miracle Dance-a-thon on Sunday 27th February. Funds raised from the event will benefit 3 distinctive charities.
The goal of the 12-Hour Miracle Dance-a-thon is to raise a minimum of $25,000 to help rebuild the Haitian community that was devestated by a recent hurricane. Aswell, equal funding will be alloted to the Afro-American Community Centre in Little Burgundy and another third of the funds will be allocated to the Lansdowne Tutoring Centre, which helps children with learning disabilities.
The 12-Hour Miracle Dance-a-thon will be comprised of 12 x 1-hour timeslots, which will be distributed among community, cultural & dance association groups. Our aim is to have a minimum of 12 dancers on the dance floor at any given time within the event and have each of those dancers collect pledge donations for their efforts.
Types of Donations include:
Cash for cash matching of money raised
Pledge donations for participating dancers
Donations if "X" amount of dancers are on the floor at a specific time slot
Donations of telephone lines for taking phone pledges on the day of the event
Donations of non-perishable food, drinks and snacks for participants & spectators
Volunteers to help with logistics: – (e.g. help distribute food & drinks, to man the Pledge Phone Lines, during the event.)
Your company/ community/ club/ society etc.can help us achieve our goal.
We urge you to make haste as we have limited time to make this Miracle event happen!
Any donation over $25.00 will receive a receipt and is 100% tax deductible and greatly appreciated.
