The eclectic Beck has been quite successful over the past years. This unique artist has been recognized for his work by winning a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Performance in early 2000. Beck's music career really took off in the 1990's. Along with his award winning music, Beck has participated in Lollapalooza (the fifth edition) in 1995 and even contributed to a single for the Motion picture "A Life Less Ordinary" starring Cameron Diaz and Ewan McGregor. The Los Angeles native was widely praised for his album "Sea Change" and has now followed up with his latest effort entitled "Guero". Listeners will note all sorts of diverse sounds ranging from influences such as folk, pop, jazz, rock, blues etc.. "Que Onda Guero" sounds like a Latin song with a rap style of singing. "Girl" has some video game sounds and an upbeat vibe that is cool. "Broken Drum" and "Rental Car" are noteworthy as well. Beck's music is really out of the ordinary. If you liked his past albums, you'll probably enjoy this one as well.
