Canadian singer / songwriter Jann Arden recently released a self-titled album, which is a follow up to her 2003 effort "Love Is The Only Soldier". Those of you who have had the opportunity to appreciate Jann's music know that she sings with such deep emotion and expresses herself with ease through touching and introspective lyrics. She began writing her own songs at the age of thirteen and has since released numerous albums. She has also been honored with Juno Award for her exceptional works. This Calgary native's latest album begins with "Calling God," a charming track. The debut release "Where No One Knows" will have you singing along in no time. "I'd Be Glad" is notable.
"Why Do I Try" is heartbreaking and if you've been burned by love, you'll surely be able to relate. Jann continues to impress with "All Of This," "Life Is Sweet" and "Perfect Day". Acclaimed fellow Canadian artist Sarah Mclachlan joins Jann for a breathtaking finale to this album, a revamped version of a previous hit single "I Would Die For You".
One thing is for sure, Jann Arden seems to radiate such honesty in her music and is able to engage listeners in a way that many artists can learn from. A worthwhile purchase.
