Frankie J

R&B artist Frankie J returns with the follow up to his 2003 album "What's A Man To Do?" He stays true to his style of Latin infused R&B music on his current album entitled "The One". Having grown up in San Diego, California, Frankie J spent time listening to artists such as Michael Jackson and Run-D.M.C. and got involved in Latin freestyling at the young age of 15. This led to an opportunity with the group Los Kumbia Kings followed by his first major label solo release. The debut single "Don't Wanna Try" got Frankie J noticed and catapulted him to success. That song is featured as a bonus track on his current album as well. Obsession (No Es Amor) featuring Baby Bash is a charming tune that is a revamped version of a hit from the group Aventura. The title track is a groovy collaboration with 3LW and produced by Irv Gotti, who has put out hit songs for the likes of Ashanti and JaRule. "How To Deal" and "Without You" are sad tales of a relationship gone wrong. The infectious "On The Floor" featuring Paul Wall is an enjoyable listen, featuring a sample of an old George Michael song. "The Story Of My Life" is a heartfelt ballad. "In The Moment" is mesmerizing. Extra bonus tracks include another Frankie J and Baby Bash collaboration on "Suga Suga" and the Spanish version of "Obsession". A worthwhile purchase. Go get it.
