Lura

Those of you who are looking to discover some new world music might want to check out the Cape Verdean style of Lura who is set to re-release her album. "Di Korpu Ku Alma" (Of Body And Soul) on May 31st, 2005. Three previously unreleased songs are included "Mundu E Nos", Es Bida" and "Oh Naia" along with a revamped version of "Tabanka Assigo". This double disc set also includes a 16-page booklet and a DVD where viewers can enjoy some concert footage, which was captured on film in April 2004 at the Grand Rex in Paris. A couple of music videos and a photo gallery will give you a good idea of what this artist is all about. The Lisbon native has put together a lovely set of African / Portuguese inspired music that is enjoyable. "Na Ri Na" is enchanting and will have you day dreaming of warm summer days on the beach. "To Martins" and "Padoce De Ceu Azul" are noteworthy. "Vazulina" is a nice upbeat tune as is "Batuku". Overall a really pleasant album to listen to.
