Hailing from Winnipeg, The Farrell Bros. are as cool as Winnipeg's winters are cold. Umm…that means pretty cool. Their sound is 50s Rockabilly with elements of country and punk thrown in for good measure. They say that they try not to limit themselves within the Rockabilly genre, a genre they find sometimes stale, but create a fusion of many types of sounds. The band has been recording since 1998 and this is their fifth album. On this album, brothers Gordie (vocals and stand up bass) and Shawn (guitar and vocals) are joined by new drummer Nuke Norval. Their music is all high energy and it translates quite well to the album. Highlights on the album include R.E.B.E.L., This Is A Riot, and Fight. The band is touring Canada throughout the fall, even playing some dates at the Toronto International Film Festival, but the closest they come to Montreal is Ottawa if you want to check them out.
