What used to be a sport that has been largely ignored is all of a sudden the next "cool" thing. The movie "Men With Brooms" is definitely one of the reasons for this. The soundtrack is a collection including eight previously unreleased tracks by an all-star Canadian line-up. Sarah Harmer teams up with The Tragically Hip on "Silver Road", a soft pop-rock tune. Her usual charm sets the pace for what's to come. Kathleen Edwards voice and singing style is similar to Sarah's on "Hockey Skates." But this particular song seems to lack emotion. The Tragically Hip takes center stage on "Throwing Off Glass." Fans of "Our Lady Peace will enjoy their interpretation of "Life." Sean Macdonald gets spiritual in the song entitled "God," a fast paced rock tune with the harmonica and guitar riffs pounding through the speakers. Big Sugar struts their stuff on "Diggin' A Hole." Tom Wilson's raspy voice is just plain annoying on "Planet Love." Acclaimed Canadian band Matthew Good Band get heavy on the guitars in "Hello Time Bomb," which is very different compared to their songs that have been playing on the radio. This song is much more edgy. The multi talented Chantal Kreviazuk sings her heart out on "Leading Me Home," which she co-wrote with her hubby Rain Maida (lead singer of Our Lady Peace). Even the lead actor of the film, Paul Gross gives singing a shot on "Kiss You Till You Weep" and surprisingly gives a pretty decent performance.
