Juliet is a 24-year-old from Philadelphia who possesses an interesting voice. To me she sounds a bit like Shirley Manson from Garbage, but the music is very different. It is a mix of dance and electronica that will be popular in the clubs. Non dance aficionados should not be scared away from this album because much of her music shows many pop influences. The track 'Nu Taboo' sounds very similar to the Kylie Minogue hit 'Slow' and on a few other tracks you might feel as though you are listening to the band Blondie. There are many 80s influences on this album. For those with sharp ears you might recognize her from her opening slot with Duran Duran when they played the Bell Centre. On this, her 12 track debut album, she has worked with well-known producer Stuart Price, who is renowned within the electronic genre for having worked with the likes of Madonna (musical director for her Reinvention tour), Thin White Duke and Les Rythmes Digitales. The first single 'Avalon' was a hit in the clubs and the second single 'Ride The Pain' is just being released.
