Roo's new best friend Lumpy is excited because he is going trick-or-treating for the first time. His great mood is ruined, however, when Tigger tells them a story about the dreaded Gobloon. According to Tigger, Gobloon will turn you into a jaggedy lantern if he catches you. The only bright spot is that if you catch Gobloon first he has to grant you a wish. After a busy night of going door to door trick-or-treating the whole gang has accumulated much candy. Lumpy and Roo's happiness is short lived after they find out that Pooh has eaten all the candy. The two decide that they have to be brave and risk trying to catch the Gobloon so they can wish for more candy. Lumpy gets scared and Roo tells him a story about Piglet being scared. After the story, Lumpy feels that with Roo at his side that he can face anything. Later on the two friends become separated and Roo decides to wish for something even more important.
halloween can be a scary time of year for young ones, but this film is an attempt to remove the 'scary' from Halloween. This film is filled with the ideas of friendship and unconditional love, which are great lessons for children to learn. Another lesson that we can learn from this film is to wait for reviews to come out before buying a DVD. If you own the previously released Pooh film 'Boo To You' then do not buy this one. Pooh's Heffalump Halloween Movie is that movie with a few extra scenes tacked on. If you do not own the other Pooh movie then you are safe. It is a classic Pooh film which parents can enjoy, but is really made for the children.
