Everyone who knows me knows that I have a weak spot for the female singer/songwriter and this compilation album is chock full of them. To make it even better a whole wack of them are also Canadian. I am in heaven! Sarah Slean, Jann Arden, and Alanis Morissette make up part of the Canadian content of the CD, which also contains songs by the likes of Ashlee Simpson, Gwen Stefani, Faith Hill and Vanessa Carlton. The album is an ode to female pop music of all sorts (country, blues, R&B, etc.) and has tracks from younger artists (Divine Brown, Joss Stone, etc.) as well as music veterans (K.D. Lang, Bonnie Raitt, etc.). My only criticism of this compilation album is the same as all others – in the day and age of ITunes and Limewire aren't compilation albums obsolete?
