The last day and night of my musical weekend included a generous helping of eclectic sounds capped off with a Rolling Stones (no photos for the "Stones" show) concert at The Bank Atlantic Center, home of The Florida Panthers hockey team.
Back to Langerado… my favourite moments of the second night included heartfelt performances by Garrett Dutton (a.k.a. G. Love, harmonica, vocals) and Daniel Sproul (lead guitar and vocals) from Rose Hill Drive. Both artists joined Robert Randolf and The Family Band for a spontaneous set of inspired jams…mmm, music you can sink your teeth into. Wilco presented their usual meticulous 90 minutes of pure and unadulterated rock (set list below), ranging from their heavier repertoire to their quieter tunes. Keller Williams',one man show got everyone up and dancing; I really enjoyed his set.
The Festival ended with a loud and distorted bang also known as The Black Crowes. These guys left me slightly disappointed due to their apparent sound problems…oh well, any band can have an off night. Other than that the festival was a huge success. This was an enormous success for this young up and coming festival. Special thanks go out to Carrie and Amy who played a huge part in providing Orcasound with all of the hugs, smiles and support necessary to put this review together. Can't wait to do it all over again next year….and by the way "The Stones" performed Angie, Satisfaction, Paint It Black and several other classic hits, but even with all of their over the top production values, The Rolling Stones paled in comparison to The Langerado Music Festival.
