Sofi Hellborg is truly an artist who has brought all her vast experiences into her music and its sound. She was born in Sweden, left to live in Africa when she was 20, played music in London, moved on to Paris, and then returned to Sweden. Her time in Cameroon taught her about African rhythm and in Paris and London she learned about jazz music. Hellman is a vocalist and also plays the saxophone. Swedish hip-hop artist Timbuktu and jazz musician Tony Allen are featured on the album. The jazz music on the album is quite boppy and up-tempo; the kind that makes you bob your head and tap your toes. This is the type of artist I would love to see at the Montreal International Jazz Festival.
