It was only after seeing Cheap Trick perform at an outdoor concert in Burlington last summer that I realized that they are not only still around but still recording music. Hmm, who knew? They are now recording on an independent label (Big3 Records) and have the freedom to create the type of music they want (not really an album full of what 'the kids' are listening to today). The 12-tracks on the album are full of 'shout outs' to their beloved 70s music and so their long-time fans will not be disappointed with it. Despite their advanced ages (in respect to the pop/rock world) they still know how to go full out on their songs. Some of the energy they exhibit in their live shows (which are great – entertainment-wise) has made its way onto this album and shows that the guys in the band still enjoy making music.
